Siemens Gas and Power and Uniper signed a cooperation agreement for the development of projects to decarbonize power generation and promoting sector coupling. One of the major focuses of the partnership will be the implementation of projects related to green hydrogen. The companies will leverage each other’s expertise across the value chain in implementing the decarbonization projects. Siemens holds the technological capability through its green hydrogen technologies whereas Uniper carries the experience in implementing power to gas projects including projects in Falkenhagen and Hamburg. The partnership will also aid Uniper in decarbonizing its power plants and achieving its target of becoming carbon neutral by 2035.
